Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary - Pacific
The volunteer Coast Guardsmen and women uphold one of man's oldest and noblest traditions, preventing loss of life and property for those who venture away from shore.
The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary Pacific Region entails 29,500 kilometers of shoreline, 6.500 islands and approximately 450,000 square kilometers of internal and offshore waters.
CCG Pacific Region consists of 1,400 volunteers and 127 vessels providing a SAR response capability. These volunteers in turn belong to one of 49 community-based Units throughout the Region and meet the challenge with determination & professionalism.
The CCGA-Pacific is an extremely valuable resource to the safety network as their rescue vessels and crews are community-based and distributed all along the West Coast Their presence enables a much faster and more comprehensive response than would otherwise be possible if only federal Military and Coast Guard resources were employed.
CCGA-Pacific Volunteers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Volunteers are willing and ready to risk their lives to help anyone in distress on the water. Members also reach out to the public with vessel Courtesy Examinations within our communities and Boating Safety education to make our waters safer for everyone.
