Role
The North Shore Lifeboat Society makes possible the operation of the North Shore's CCGA by:
- own, manage, maintain and operate the $½ million dollars of lifeboats and SAR assets.
- maintain a working agreement with the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary - Pacific Region to crew the Society’s rescue vessels, specifically with Unit 1 Howe Sound and Unit 2 Deep Cove; and to support the activities and goals of the Auxiliary.
- actively raise funds to provide the financial requirements to acquire, maintain and operate three North Shore based SAR vessels and their extensive safety, rescue and electronic equipment.
- pay the vessel operating costs of training the volunteers of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary who crew these vessels.
- seek partnerships with key sponsors where the Society will actively support sponsor goals and programs.
